Meet Jen 

Hi, I'm Jen, the owner of J Strongwood Services. 

I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and am happy to have found this business as my second career. I've worked in social services for decades in private adoption, worker's compensation, youth residential treatment, HIV case management, Operations and CARF manager for a small mental health clinic, and for ten years I worked and supervised child protective court case management social workers. I have a BA in Sociology, and a MSW degree.

I started this business with insurance credentialing services in 2016 while running operations for a mental health clinic. My business grew quite quickly and in early 2018 I became familiar with SimplePractice. The normalization of telehealth care during the pandemic allowed many clinicians to start their own private practices, and for me to work full-time in the business. 

I enjoy my ability to support clinicians who are on the front line of care, as I know the stressors of that work. My experience also allows me a calm approach when working with your therapy clients, while also making sure that you get paid. 

My employee Karen, who I've known her for over 40 years, brings compassion and hospital billing experience to the benefit of JSS. She and I regularly problem solve together, and enjoy the challenging work of making insurance pays our clients. 

A friend once called me "The Insurance Whisperer" and I've come to believe it is true.
